Trendlines Statewide Monthly Construction Data- April 2025

Alabama Cement Shipments Start 2025 in Positive Territory

Data recently released by the United States Geological Service showed cement shipments increased by 6.9% in January 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The
increase month over month breaks a four-month downward trend the state had been in since August 2024. Looking to ready mix yardage, we estimate 409,922 cubic
yards were placed during the month. The estimated yardage is an 2.9% increase over December yardage.

Looking to residential construction data, a recent report by the Alabama Center for Real Estate estimated 3,987 homes have been started in Alabama during the first
three months. This is a 1.9% decrease compared to the first three months of 2024. Commercial construction is also facing headwinds according to the AIA Billing Index.
March’s billing index came in at 44.1. AIA Billings have declined 27 out of the last 30 months.

We continue to see uneven yardages across the state. Mobile and Montgomery remain quite busy, but other markets have seen a slow down across all sectors
