Truck Driving Championship held May 6th, 2023

On what turned out to be a beautiful Saturday despite a dicey weather forecast earlier in the week, the 2023 Truck Driving Championship was held in Birmingham. Thirty-nine drivers from across the Southeast gathered at Thompson Tractor Company to compete in the event, which is held each year to thank these men and women for all the hard work they do for our industry.

Each driver performed various obstacles throughout the course, scoring points for their performance. The challenges included an inspection of the truck, parallel parking, railroad stop, tightest turn, rear stop and a written test.

Gamezone and Blue Ladybug Facepainting were there for added entertainment, and a barbecue followed the event.

A special “Thank You” to Thompson for hosting once again, and to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency for helping judge the competition. It was another successful “Rodeo” enjoyed by the drivers, their family and friends.
