Trendlines Statewide Monthly Construction Data- January 2023

Data recently released by the United States Geological Service shows 154,624 tons of cement were shipped to the state during the month of November 2022. Cement consumption through November 2022 is outpacing 2021 by 11.6%.

Looking to ready mix volumes, we estimate 572,573 cubic yards of concrete were placed during the month. The yardage is 8.9% higher than the same period in 2021.

We continue to receive reports from members who have seen significant declines in the residential market. Light commercial and industrial projects continue to remain robust and are helping to keep trucks running. Architects are still very busy which bodes well for commercial construction in the state remaining strong in the near future.
