ACIA now accepting scholarship applications for 2026

The Alabama Concrete Industries Association is happy to once again be offering three different scholarships in 2026 totaling $33,500.

The Foundation provides the funding for scholarships that are awarded annually to college seniors majoring in architecture, engineering, and building sciences at universities in Alabama. Currently, the Foundation awards two $8,000 scholarships each year.

In 2017, the Sam Reed Memorial Scholarship was created to honor and remember Sam, a great leader and past board chairman. Following his untimely death in 2016, the board of directors established the $5,000 scholarship for students enrolled at Auburn University majoring in building science, architecture or engineering.

In 2020, the association established a scholarship to financially assist the child or grandchild of a member, which is now called the Ronald Davis Scholarship. The scholarship program was established to honor the life of Mr. Ronald Davis, the owner of Bama Concrete. Applicants must be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college OR a current high school student who has been accepted to attend college starting in the fall of 2025. The student must also have a parent or grandparent working in the concrete industry. There will be three – $3,000 scholarships and one – $3,500 scholarship awarded.

All applications will be accepted until February 15, 2026. Recipients will be notified by March 6, 2026. The scholarships will be presented at the Annual Business Meeting on March 30, 2026, at Greystone Country Club in Birmingham.
