2022 Truck Driving Championship held Saturday, May 7th

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 2022 Truck Driving Championship was once again held in Birmingham on a beautiful Saturday in May. Forty drivers from across the Southeast gathered at Thompson Tractor Company to compete in the event, which is held each year to thank these men and women for all the hard work they do for our industry.

Each driver performed various obstacles throughout the course, scoring points for their performance. The challenges included an inspection of the truck, parallel parking, railroad stop, tightest turn, rear stop and a written test.

Gamezone and Blue Ladybug Facepainting were there for added entertainment, and a barbecue lunch from Full Moon BBQ followed the event.

A special “Thank You” to Thompson for hosting once again, and to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency for helping judge the competition. It was another successful “Rodeo” enjoyed by the drivers, their family and friends.

We also want to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event possible!
