ConcreteWorks presents ‘A Day of Concrete Knowledge’

A Day of Concrete Knowledge is designed to provide valuable education programs on concrete and masonry concrete topics. All architects, engineers, inspectors, contractors and concrete industry personnel are encouraged to attend. This full-day seminar provides 9 hours of HSW approved education credits. Certificates will be issued to both architects and engineers.

Masonry topics to be covered
“Economy of Single Wythe Walls”
“Designing Smart Walls through Lightweight Aggregates”
“Proper Jointing of Masonry Walls”
“Concrete Masonry and Sustainability”

Lunch Program – “Internal Curing of Concrete”

A Day of Concrete Knowledge is offered in four locations throughout the state during the month of September.
September 10, 2012 – Birmingham, AL – AGC State Headquarters
September 11, 2012 –  Huntsville, AL – Museum of Fine Art
September 17, 2012 –  Mobile, AL – 5 Rivers State Park
September 18, 2012 – Montgomery, AL – Alabama Home Builders Association

Program will last from 8 am – 5 pm. All day attendance is not required; however, attendees will only receive credit for the hours attended. Certificates will be issued following the end of each program.

There is a fee of $20 to attend.
All proceeds will go to your choice of the Alabama Architectural Foundation or the ACIF.  The ACIF (Alabama Concrete Industries Foundation) yearly awards two $8,000 scholarships to students enrolled in architecture, engineering or building science at one of the state’s universities. Payments will be collected at the door.
