Anthony Spafford, a student at Auburn University majoring in Architecture, is our second recipient of the $8,000 ACIF scholarship.
Anthony holds a 3.94 GPA, and boasts many notable accolades including student-worker of the year nominee, AIA Design Excellence, and MMXX Finalist to name a few. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, Dean’s List and is an Eagle Scout.
To help ease the financial burden of the cost of education, he has worked as a research assistant at Auburn, and also as an archictectural intern with both Seay, Seay & Litchfield and Goodwyn Millls & Cawood. With his experience in architecture even as a student, Anthony will surely make his mark once in the workforce.
“Concrete can be a great design feature and means of achieving structural goals.,” he said. “This materialistic opportunity allows for impactful design and practicality such as bridges and dams. These great structures are designed, but also utilize concrete. My goal is to bring more of the elaborate designed concrete associated with the civil field into the architectural.”
