The Alabama Concrete Industries Association Foundation is committed to the advancement of the state's greatest asset, its youth.

The Foundation was created in 1993. It began with a single contribution to a memorial scholarship fund honoring one of the industry's bright young leaders, David F. Wright, who was killed in a plane crash.

The Alabama Concrete Industries Association Foundation provides the funding for scholarships that are awarded annually to college seniors majoring in architecture, engineering, and building sciences at universities in Alabama.

Currently the ACIF awards two $8,000 scholarships annually. Applications are accepted beginning in September of each year with awards being presented in November.

Foundation Funding

Alabama Concrete Industries Association Foundation receives its funding for its scholarship activities in three ways:

  1. The associate and affiliate member companies of the Association are asked to pledge one dollar for each of their employees annually. Active members are asked to pledge two dollars per employee.
  2. Additionally, every two years a Foundation Golf Tournament is held attracting foursomes from business, industry and education from throughout Alabama.
  3. Memorials are accepted and encouraged from anyone wishing to participate in promoting the youth of our state.
