ACIF Sporting Clays Fundraiser held Nov. 10

On a gorgeous fall day in November, the ACIF held a Sporting Clays Fundraiser at Orvis Shooting Grounds @Pursell Farms in Sylacauga. The event included 18 teams and raised more than $30,000 for the ACIF scholarship fund. ACIA holds concrete seminars for student chapters of ACI and ASCE

The Alabama Concrete Industries Association recently hosted two seminars on designing concrete parking lots for ASCE at UAB and ACI at Auburn. On October 19th, the ACIA held a session at UAB, and 19 students attended. On October 20th, a program in Auburn was held and was attended by 35 students from the ACI chapter. Trendlines Monthly Statewide Construction Data

Housing Market Continues Positive Growth Through the first 9 months of 2016, Alabama has seen 15.1% more housing permits issued compared to the first nine months of 2015. Total permits for 2016 are 7,613 versus 6,616 for the previous year. Helping lead the growth are Birmingham with a 30.9% increase, Muscle Shoals with a 29.1% increase, and Tuscaloosa with a 34.1% growth. Examining the top […]

2017 Scholarships

              The Alabama Concrete Industries Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2017 scholarships. The foundation will be awarding two $8,000 scholarships to seniors enrolled in building science, architecture, or engineering at one of the state’s universities.
