Recently the association held the second annual Butch Wyatt Concrete Cup for architects and engineers in the state. The event is an appreciation tournament for designers who are proponents of designing with concrete products. The 2012 tournament field included 40 specifiers from across Alabama. The event included chamber of commerce weather at 75 degrees and the course at Inverness Country Club was in great shape.
While only one team was able to call themselves champions at the end of the day, every participant did walk away with a nice fleece jacket featuring the ACIA logo and many walked away with a door prize.
We would like to congratulate the winning team of Brad Christopher of LBYD Engineering, Willie Oliver of Willie Oliver Architecture, Kevin Vernazza of Sherman Industries, Jeff Cahill of Cahill Architecture, and Ty Cole of Giattina Fisher Aycock.
In addition to presenting awards to the winning team, the ACIA also presented to Nancy Wyatt a framed golf flag signed by all participants at the 2011 inaugural tournament. Nancy was unable to attend the first event due to an illness.
The ACIA would like to thank the following sponsors who contributed $500 to make the event a huge success.
ABC Fibers – ABC Fibers also generously donated huggers featuring the Butch Wyatt Concrete Cup Logo.
